Scholar Snapp

This is a new website that allows students to use their Common App information to apply quickly and easily for scholarships. First step is to create an account through Common App if you haven’t already done so.

How To:

  • Connect to Scholar Snapp in the Financial Aid Resources tab of your Common App.
  • Log in to your Scholar Snapp account, or register for a new account.
  • Give permission for Common App to access & transfer your data to Scholar Snapp.

Once your data is completely transferred,  you can login and start looking for scholarships!

Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship 

Deadline:  December 4, 2019Turn your completed application into the counseling office by 3:00 p.m.

Amount:  $500

Eligibility Requirements:  Must be a Clark County resident and plan to attend an accredited post-secondary institution.

Three (3) adult references and an essay are required.  Essay must be typed and between 500-750 words.  If selected, recipients will be recognized at the MLK Breakfast on Jan. 18th and the MLK Memorial Service on Jan. 20th.

INDOT Civil Engineering Scholarship

Deadline:  December 31, 2019

Amount:  $3,125 per semester for up to five (5) years

Eligibility Requirements:  Minimum GPA of 2.8 or higher, must plan to enter college as full-time student during 2020-2021 school year, and must be accepted into a School of Engineering at an Indiana ABET accredited college or university. Click here for the list of approved colleges.

Resume, letter of recommendation, & official transcript must be submitted with application.

If selected for this scholarship, student must agree to work full time for INDOT during summer breaks while in college.  After graduation, student must work one year for each academic year that he/she received this scholarship. Failure to fulfill program requirements may mean that student has to repay the full amount of scholarship dollars received.

Navy ROTC Scholarship

Deadline:  December 31, 2019

Amount:  Full tuition at an approved college (plus all mandatory fees, stipend for books, uniforms & Naval Science textbooks will be provided, and a monthly subsistence allowance)

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen, a Naturalized US Citizen or in process to become a Naturalized US Citizen.
  • Must meet score requirements for ACT and SAT
    • SAT:  540 Math; 550 Verbal Evidence Based Reading & Writing AND 1200 Combined (Math plus Evidenced Based Reading & Writing)
    • ACT:  21 Math; 22 English AND 47 Combined (Math plus English)

If selected for this scholarship, additional requirements will be required while student is in college.

Ron Brown Scholar Program

Deadline:  January 9, 2020 (must be postmarked by this date)

Amount:  $10,000 per year for 4 years

Eligibility Requirements:  Must be a US citizen or permanent resident, Black/African American and current high school senior.

Two essays, two letters of recommendation and high school transcript must be included with your application.  Application MUST be printed and mailed to the address listed on the application.

America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders Scholarship

Deadline:  January 15, 2020

Amount:  $1,500

Eligibility Requirements:  Minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher, must obtain two online farmer endorsements (additional details are available when you apply).  Must plan to to pursue a degree in specific areas of agriculture or chemical/electrical/mechanical engineering.  Full list of eligible majors is located at American Farmers Grow Ag Leaders – Program Overview & Eligible Majors.

Students, make sure to check out the list of eligible majors! Many other majors, such as computer science, diesel mechanics, journalism, marketing, and public relations to name a few, qualify for this scholarship.

JFK Profile in Courage Essay Contest

Deadline:  January 17, 2020

Amount:  $10,000

Eligibility Requirements:  Open to all US high school students in grades 9-12.

Essays must be a minimum of 700 words but no more than 1,000 words. Must include 5 listed sources. Essay must describe an act of political courage by a US elected official who served during or after 1917. Can be someone who has served at the local, state or national level. Certain individuals may NOT be chosen for your essay. See the online eligibility & requirements section for more info.

Knights of Pythias Educational Assistance Scholarship

Deadline:  January 25, 2020

Amount:  $1,000

Eligibility Requirements:  Must have GPA of 3.0 or higher and plan to enroll in an accredited college in the fall of 2020 (you will have to provide proof of enrollment if selected).

Two short essays and your high school transcript must be included with your application.

Community Foundation of Southern Indiana (CFSI) Scholarships

Deadline:  January 27, 2020 by 12:00 PM (NOON)

Amount:  Varies by scholarship.

Eligibility requirements:  Varies by scholarship.  See attached Scholarship Information Packet for more information.

Counselor Request must be submitted by Friday, January 17, 2020. This is part of the online application. It is the last section listed in your application but PLEASE COMPLETE THIS FIRST. We have the same deadline as students so we need time to complete our portion.

PFLAG Louisville – Bruce & Margaret Lincoln Scholarship

Deadline:  February 28, 2020

Amount:  Varies (several scholarships will be awarded this year)

Eligibility Requirements: Must plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college next year and be supportive of PFLAG’s mission.

Two letters of recommendation are required. If selected, you must attend a celebration banquet in April.

Application:  Bruce & Margaret Lincoln Scholarship

Nicholson & Becht Orthodontics Scholarship

Deadline:  April 15, 2020

Amount:  $2,000

Eligibility Requirements:  Must be a previous or current patient at Nicholson & Becht Orthodontics.

Must submit the attached entry form along with a one-page, single-spaced, typed essay describing how orthodontic treatment has had a positive impact on your life.

INvestEd Scholarship Giveaway

Deadline:  June 16, 2020 by 5:00 p.m.
