JHS Today


  • The Library will be closed 4th period today.
  • Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors will be able to vote for Prom King and Queen candidates today, check your email.  Final vote will be at Prom.
  • Ivy Tech is hosting another Dual Credit Transition Night exclusively for the students at Jeffersonville High School on Thursday, APRIL 13 from 5-7 on the Ivy Tech campus Sellersburg in the Ogle Hall Community Room. Ivy Tech staff will be available again to answer all of your dual credit questions and evaluate high school transcripts.  AND, two JHS students in attendance that night will win a $2500.00 scholarship to be used at Ivy Tech Community College (certain eligibility requirements may apply).  To qualify for $2,500.00 scholarship you must:
    • Be a senior that has taken or is currently taking dual credit courses through Ivy Tech.
    • Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
    • Must RSVP by date indicated for event
    • Must bring a parent or guardian with you to the event
    • other eligibility requirements may apply
  • Ten JHS students will win a $50.00 prepaid credit card that may be used anywhere credit cards are accepted.  To qualify for the $50 gift card, you must:
    • Currently be a Sophomore, Junior, or a Senior with Dual Credits in High School
    • Bring a Parent or Legal Guardian to the event.
    • RSVP to by April 10th
  • BALFOUR will be here on Thursday to take orders during lunch in the commons area.
  • All prom goers and guests must have a photo ID to be admitted to the prom and there will be a cursory check of purses and jackets at the door.
  • Post Prom will be this Saturday night at JHS from midnight to 2:30. There will be food, music and cash prizes in the Commons area and the pool will be open for swimming from 12:30-2:30. Due to safety regulations, in order to be allowed to swim you must have your parents fill out the Google Form that was sent to them in their email today, giving you permission to be in the pool. If you are an invited sophomore, have a date from a different school, or just did not receive the email, you can pick up paper permission slips from the front office. In order to get in to Post Prom, you must still have your photo ID to be checked in, so be sure to bring it with you!
  • Optimist Club Activities this week – Decorate your cookies today and tomorrow (Monday and Tuesday)  ALL lunches.  Wednesday, Thursday and Friday – Flowers sales during all lunches, $1 for, your choice of color, a fresh carnation.  Funds go to the Jeff High Junior Optimists.  Next Week – Guest Speaker at Monday’s meeting – Autumn Cleveland, Jeff High grad will be speaking.  Autumn is building a successful career in female body building.  Public is welcome, 2:45 in the Media Center, Monday April 17th
  • Seniors, several new scholarships are available in Naviance! The Greater Clark Education Foundation scholarships are now available. Two of these scholarships are just for Greater Clark students and one (JHS Class of 1943) is only for Jeff High students. Make sure to check these scholarships out and get your applications turned into the counseling office by April 25th.
  • Any student interested in the elections for president, vice-president, treasurer, secretary & 8 executive officers positions for the 2017-2018 school year, the candidate packets are available outside of C115 & B106 and in the media center. Candidate packets must be completed by April 19th. The election is set for April 26th & 27th.  Any questions, see Mrs. Molnar C115 or Mrs. Bronson B106
  • AWC Peer tutoring will be available on all Monday’s and Wednesday’s throughout the school year in room A113.
